![]() ![]() the invasion would go undetected anyways).Įven more importantly, even if you detect the supply raid, it may easily have a crappy infiltration time. 30% of the time, you just slash your income in half for absolutely no reason (i.e. That is a lot of rebels (essentially slashing your income in half) for a not so reliable chance to detect the supply raid. If you have 6 rebels on intel, you have a 70% chance to detect an invasion supply raid before the invasion hits. What people aren't telling you is that the benefits of having rebels on intel in a liberated region is minimal given the costs. And yes, keeping about half of rebels on intel will let you, in most cases, detect invasion attempt early (if other conditions are applicable, 21+ days since liberation and 8+ advent strength in any neighboring region). Intel job will still provide you with intel resource. I also noticed that I was getting '+1 resistance member in this region' hack rewards from advent towers.Nibelung44 wrote:Is there any point to have the intelligence job? Should I go the recruit route until 13 and then make them produce supplies? I noticed I got alot more 'Prisoner rescue' missions filled with resistance members which I completely ignored. When it confirmed activated I just stopped ALL recruitment in my havens. I couldn't find the source so it activated. This month after my first faceless free supply drop I found a dark event that the aliens would be sending faceless to infiltrate my havens. 239 supplies! Now THATS what im talking about, especially when I had a supply raid mission against advent about 5 days before the supply drop which gave me another 130 supplies! Massive boost to my weapons and equipment, elerium research in progress and got resistance comms online. When the first 2 regions got about 8 rebels each I switched them to pure supplies and ive just had my 2nd consecutive month of faceless free income. Went on a massive recruiting drive on my first 2 regions and pure intel on the newest one. Got my first month of faceless free income! Yipee! a Big bad 35 supplies. I sent 3 tech sergeants to my regions and found a few more faceless. ![]() It is much safer this way because of the free turn you get to clean things up, especially when you have like 3 rebels and they're equipped with smgs or shotguns. This way you get your overwatch turn + your next turn immediately and they don't get any yellow alert moves. The right tactic is to watch their patrols, then move your guys into the patrol path and then overwatch in it. Just to expand on this point further: the wrong tactic is to set your guys on overwatch, then have one of your guys shoot or lob a grenade to open and hope your overwatches kill them all. Generally speaking I play these missions like I used to play XCOM:EU and I've had far more flawless victories doing these missions than any other, using those tactics. ![]() Soldiers who are capable of dealing high amounts of damage tend to work best for these missions - i prefer grenadiers or heavy gunners personally. concentrate of the faceless first, flash-bang the advent until you are ready to deal with them. When you are ready for the facless then try to get your shotgunners (if you have them) to the front line as they will deal the most damage. You are not there to make friends, your resistance members are very squishy. Remember, liberal use of flashbangs and grenades will help enormously. If you do it right you should be able to ambush the first pod and take them all out on their reaction move before they can get a shot off. When you have a rendezvous mission, you aren't on a time so you can overwatch creep towards the patrolling group and take them out first - make sure you are out of range of the faceless pod so that you don't find yourself having to deal with all of them at the same time. ![]() You'll probably play swapsies for a little while as you get this set up, but sooner or later you'll be doing the missions more often than not. Have soldiers as your liaisons, and make them officers - this increases the chances of uncovering "unknown sources". ![]()
